Last year I finished hiking the 67 highest peaks of New England. A mighty accomplishment for anyone, but for someone like me – living with Ménière’s disease – a truly spectacular feat. On September 25, 2021, I finished my last three peaks of the 48 4000-footers in New Hampshire. It took me 7 years to complete the NH48, but apart from Lincoln and Lafayette, the remaining summits (46 of them!) were completed in 15 months during the pandemic, from July 2020 to September 2021.
6 weeks ago, I started running. And since I’ve never shown any interest in running before, unless it was to a buffet or an open bar, you might be asking WHY??? Why would I decide to do something so out of character, so difficult, so UNLIKE ME?? Well..
I am writing today to get something off of my chest, as well as my head and shoulders. Meet Kiwi.
