C is for …

Last night at dinner, while other families were conversing about art and politics, my family and I were discussing our favorite letters. And like many other Sesame Street topics of conversation, it was polarizing. My daughters and I all (of course) chose the first letters of our names as our favorites. Mine being C. But just because C is for Christy doesn’t mean I’m biased solely because of THAT.

I love C because of its lovely crescent shape. C is a smile turned on its side.

C-:

C is also for all the very best foods. Cake, Cookies, Candy, Cupcakes, Cabbage (yes, I like cabbage), Coleslaw, Chips. CHOCOLATE. Cream. Chinese food. Carrots. We couldn’t even eat without C as in Chewing. Chowing. Chow.com.

And half the world would still be asleep w.out their morning Coffee.

C is the beginning of Christmas, the most beloved of all holidays.

It’s the basis of all friendships, what with chatting, clapping, and copycatting.

And think of all the animals beginning with C: cats, camels, crabs (sorry),

C is CUTE.

Curlicue. Constantinople. Coat Closets.

Granted, cholera and crucifixion are pretty crappy. As is crap. But what about Cheers!! And cha-ching! And Constant Comment tea.. which is just about the best thing around.

And where would we all be without compliments, huh? Closeness. Cuddling.

Today’s post was brought to you by the letter C.

  1. I don’t know that I have a favorite letter but I do know that I HATE letters I can’t get to look pretty in cursive. (I know, I am a total dork.) My As, Fs, Ps, and Ss look pretty gorgeous. I think I’ll have to go with “S” since I based my cursive S on the treble clef.

Plus, S starts off sassy and always turns words into a party when you add them to the end!

Your cookie and cake and cupcake argument is pretty convincing, however.

    😉

  2. Good points, Dishy!
I like my caffeine from Coke, but those are just two more examples!
Hmm… speaking of Sesame Street and such, didn’t Cookie Monster used to sing a song about C being for cookies? Which I believe was good enough for him! And me, too!
    🙂

  3. A very clever post! I love those silly conversations at dinner.
I will never look at the letter C the same way again. That includes making a smiley face C-:.
And don’t forget C is for culinary and creative.

  4. C for Cool Christy! Love your endless, timeless family adventures, thoughts and journeys in life. My favorite letter B for bright and brave. It’s still a work in progress. Best wishes to you and your family.

  5. Though the C in Challah is almost silent – I’m right there with you – Cuddling, Curlicues and all!

Very fun post – I very much enjoyed it! 🙂

  6. You win. C is the best. 🙂
Surprisingly, I don’t have a favorite letter, but I do have favorite fonts and my current fave is with Century Gothic. Coincidence? I think not.

    Cheers!

  7. I’m not a fan of the letter C….. I’m a T girl and like you it’s not because of my name… although I do like that. T is for Daffy? lol no, my real name, Tracey.
Tasty, Talented, Tickled, Tripled and Topple …. try all those words with a C and they are just nowhere near as nice.
Tantalize…. now there is a good word.
You my dear are talanted and tasty and not at all crap! xx

  8. I never really thought of how cool “C’ is…all the best foods, smiles sideways, Christmas and Christmas canes, cuddley cats and of course my Cici, (she’s a pup), but she is cuddely, and cute. I love this post!
